CAFCC: Hearts of Oak will overturn Real Bamako 1st Leg defeat – Ocloo

David Ocloo, an assistant coach for Hearts of Oak, is optimistic that the Phobians can recover from their 3-0 loss to AS Real Bamako of Mali in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup qualifying match.
Hearts of Oak will host the return leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 15, 2022, where they must win by a score of four goals to have any hope of moving on to the group rounds of the second-tier interclub tournament of the CAF.
Ocloo will be in command of the match in the absence of a legitimate head coach, having already taken over the first leg four days after being named assistant coach.
This is a no-match. I can confidently say we can turn this around. We played well. We created a lot of chances but no clinical. We are going to right the wrongs. They are beatable,” he said.
Hearts of Oak haven’t advanced past the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup since they won the competition’s first edition in 2004, despite having participated in the qualification rounds in 2016 and 2021.
