Camidoh Sets the Record Straight: Stop playing with us and use already collected data for SIM re-registration
Camidoh, the singer of the hit song “Sugarcane,” has lamented the extra effort every Ghanaian must undergo to confirm the Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards provided by the nation’s telecoms operators.
The government, as well as the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization, declared last year that the Ghana Card will be a key prerequisite for the re-registration of SIM cards, which is slated to take place from October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022.
Due to the failure of many Ghanaians who lack the Ghana Card to register their SIMS, the deadline for the exercise was extended from March 31 to July 31, 2022.
“In this modern world, you want every citizen to go to telco offices to validate their sim cards. First it was biometric voter’s id then passports then Ghana card .. you couldn’t use data from all these points??? Stop playing with us, it’s 2022,” he tweeted.
Camidoh claims that the government has information on Ghanaians that can be used for sim re-registration, sparing residents from the stress of standing in line for a lengthy time to finish the process.
