Cristiano Ronaldo: All Top Clubs that Rejected The Chance to Sign the Portugues as an Option
The possibilities for Cristiano Ronaldo are becoming less as time passes, and it is increasingly likely that he will sign with Manchester United for the coming campaign.
The 37-year-old announced his decision to leave the club to play in the Champions League one year after returning to the Red Devils.
Ronaldo has not yet joined his teammates, who were on a preseason tour, as of Friday, July 15. In contrast to the first time he left Manchester United in 2009, Ronaldo is having a difficult time finding employers willing to hire him and, of course, pay his big projected salary.
Although the Portuguese superstar still has a lot to contribute on the field, Fleknews looks at some of the teams that made it plain that Ronaldo was not an option.

1. Bayern München
According to reports, Bayern Munich turned down Cristiano’s agent Jorgen Mendes’ overture regarding a potential transfer because the Bavarians were already interested in Sadio Mane.
2. Paris Saint Germain
One of the most recent parties to rule out a Ronaldo move is PSG. Many fans would consider it a dream come true to see Cristiano team up with Lionel Messi, but that unlikely scenario stems from the French club’s alleged reluctance to add another superstar to a squad that already features Kyian Mbappe and Neymar.
3. F.C Barcelona
Ronaldo was reportedly rumored to be interested in a move to Real Madrid’s bitter rivals Barcelona, but Portuguese football analyst Pedro Sepulveda recently refuted those allegations.
4. Chelsea
The Guardian reports that Chelsea decided against signing Ronaldo as well after speaking with the forward’s representatives. Todd Boehly, who was initially enthralled by the prospect of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner playing at Stamford Bridge, spoke with Mendes.
But after speaking with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, the German was clear that he preferred a more flexible and fluid assault. Raheem Sterling just joined Chelsea’s roster as well, and their front line appears to be pretty talented.
5. Manchester City
Another contentious decision, reports of a possible transfer to United’s City rivals were dispelled as early as September 2021. Ronaldo was initially intended to be signed by the Citizens in the summer of 2021, but the agreement fell through at the last minute.
