Hearts of Oak lose league opener to Aduana Stars

Aduana Stars defeated Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League opener at Dormaa, earning the Ogya club a well-earned victory in front of their home supporters.
In the first half, Aduana had the most of possession and the majority of chances, but they were fortunate not to be in front when Dennis Korsah of Hearts of Oak struck the post from within the box shortly before halftime.
Bright Adeji scored a close-range goal just four minutes after the break to give the home team the lead.
Defender Caleb Amankwah, who was visiting his previous residence, was controversially dismissed in the closing minutes of the game, leaving Hearts of Oak down to ten players.
In other games, a game-winning goal was scored by defender Kofi Asmah on Sunday as Medeama defeated Legon Cities, who had two players sent off.
Kotoku Royals defeated Accra Lions in Cape Coast to earn their first-ever Ghana Premier League victory.
Karela United defeated Tamale City, who were also making their league debut, by a score of one, Dreams FC shocked Gold Stars in Bibiani, and Real Tamale United was held to a scoreless draw by Samartex.
Meanwhile, League record holders and current champions Asante Kotoko are yet to play they have to take on Burkinabe side Rail Club de Kadiogo in Benin for their CAF Champions League Opener.
