He was a member of the Ghana@60 planning committee, which was charged with organizing and hosting activities to commemorate Ghana’s 60th anniversary of independence.
Political life
From 1999 until 2003, Lord Commey served as the New Patriotic Party’s National Youth Organizer. Prior to the 2012 Ghanaian general election, Lord Commey was named Operations Director for Nana Akufo-campaign.
Addo’s Members of the opposition National Democratic Congress accused him of using goons to generate confusion at political events after his appointment.
He has spoken out on a number of national topics, including defending the NPP against comments made by former party chairman Haruna Esseku.
Esseku asserted that Ghana’s multiparty democracy had been restored following the 1966 coup that deposed Kwame Nkrumah’s government. Lord Commey disputed the claim, stating that the New Patriotic Party has never supported and will never accept the idea of a coup in Ghana or anywhere else.
President Nana Akuffo-Addo named him Director of Operations at the presidential palace, The Flagstaff House, in January 2017. Many New Patriotic Party members applauded his appointment, believing that his continuous involvement with grassroots supporters would serve as a conduit between them and the president.
